Case study · Loop Rewards — digital product

One app that turns a whole
neighborhood into rewards.

Loop Rewards lets you earn and spend "Loop Cash" across an entire network of locally owned businesses — pizza place, dry cleaner, ice-cream shop and more — from one app. As Director of Digital Creative I led it end to end for agency Favorite Color: the strategy, the UX architecture, the design system and the product itself, across iOS, Android, an in-store iPad and a responsive admin web.

01
The product

Loyalty, but for a whole main street.

Big chains have rewards programs; the independent shop down the block doesn't. Loop hands that power to a whole community at once — a single membership that earns cash back everywhere in the network. Members scan a code or a receipt, watch their Loop Cash grow, and redeem it at the next store over. The catch, for us, was making one clear experience span four very different surfaces without ever feeling like four different products.

Spend local, earn everywhere — all in one loop.

02
Architecture

Map the whole system first.

Before any pixels, I laid out how the pieces fit: the member apps and in-store iPad on the front end, the admin web and cloud on the back end, and every flow between them — sign-in, scan-to-earn, redeem, promotions, social. Then every screen was wireframed, so the structure was settled and testable long before it got dressed up.

Design system

A design language that scales.

On top of the structure came the look: the circular Loop mark, a confident green-and-gray palette, and a full kit of components — cards, forms, buttons, toggles, balance displays — each with its states defined. One system, reused everywhere, so the app, the iPad and the admin all speak the same visual language.

The app

Shipped, screen by screen.

The finished product: onboarding and sign-up, a map of nearby merchants, deal and merchant detail pages, receipt-scanning to earn Loop Cash, a live balance with expiry, transactions, profile and refer-a-friend — a complete loyalty experience that stays simple no matter how much is happening underneath.

Bringing it to life

And telling everyone about it.

To launch, the product needed a story people could grasp in seconds — so the work also included the films: a bright product spot answering "what is Loop Rewards?" and an animated explainer walking through how the whole thing works. Life's better in the Loop.
